Control of Work
Control of Work (CoW) is a key challenge for the industry both in terms of safety performance and
efficiency of work place execution. Inadequate control of work has been identified as the primary cause
of major accidents and high potential incidents for many Operators, thus all major operating companies
have initiatives to address this globally. Petrotechnics offers a range of in-field and system-based
solutions in the arena of work execution. Besides transforming the way work gets done, Petrotechnics'
Control of Work solution provides a robust multifaceted approach involving people, training, coaching and
long-term customer support.
Petrotechnics' engagement business design approach is uniquely "bottom up, top down". Our unique skill is
to engage with a client, identify key opportunites and issues that will improve performance and add value,
develop a framework for action, build the solution and work with frontline personnel to ensure that the
new working proceesses are implemented and embedded as routine. This undoubtedly has proven successful in
engaging the frontline workforce in the ownership of how work gets done safely and effectively.
Work planning and execution is a broad process spectrum that requires an integrated, practise-based outcome
providing clarity of process, roles, skills, rules, etc. Petrotechnics has partnered with key clients in
developing integrated solutions ranging from design development of global CoW Practises to in-the-field
coaching.
