Neil Houghton, Product Development Manager
Neil joined Petrotechnics in 1996 after completing a BSc in Computing at The Robert Gordon University.
Initially employed as a Systems Engineer, Neil spent his first few months with Petrotechnics providing internal network and application support, testing the company's software products, and providing both on and off site client support.
Following this initial period, Neil transferred to the Software Development department and spent the next two years as a Software Developer learning to design and code software on several different projects.
In 2000 Neil was promoted to Senior Developer and then 2 years later, to Lead Developer becoming actively involved in the planning and execution of projects, and helping ensure that these projects were successfully delivered.
In 2003 Neil was given the opportunity to take on the role of Software Development Team Leader. He now looks after the day-to-day running of the software development department, working closely with senior management and other departments to ensure that any software projects we undertake are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.
