The BG Group Chairman's Awards 2008, were held at the Blenheim Palace, one of England's grandest stately homes. Employees from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Kazakhstan, India, Libya, Nigeria, Trinidad & Tobago and Tunisia joined finalists from joint ventures and partners, as well as BG directors, EVP's and AGM's for a celebration of the winning and commended entries in each of the nine award categories.
This year's competition attracted a total of 137 entries across the nine categories. 70 of the submissions were safety-related and there were 22 entries for the newly created category of Asset Integrity.
Under the Safety Innovation category, BG Tunisia received a Highly Commended Award for being the first asset in the BG Group to successfully implement an electronic permit-to-work system, replacing a traditional paper based one.
BG Tunisia implemented Petrotechnics electronic permit-to-work system, Sentinel PROTM, in 2006.
