Talisman Awards Petrotechnics £900,000 Contract
Petrotechnics has recently secured a £900,000 contract with Talisman Energy (UK) Limited (Talisman) for the delivery of its integrated safe system of work (ISSOW) solution, on Talisman‘s operated offshore and onshore UKCS facilities.
The project will see Petrotechnics providing consultancy services for the design, build and implementation of Sentinel PRO®, in addition to managing and delivering the associated training and coaching programme across seven offshore and 2 onshore facilities.
Sentinel PRO® is a fully integrated, web-based solution for managing frontline work execution, including Risk Assessment, Isolation Control and Permit to Work.
Talisman‘s decision to adopt this solution demonstrates its commitment to regional harmonisation in the North Sea where over 70% of operators are already using the system to manage frontline work execution.
Regional harmonisation is delivering common work practices and consistency in the control of work, while also having a major impact on safety as itinerant workers moving between different work locations within the region are trained in the system and familiar with its use.
Dick Bridger, Manager HSEA for Talisman stated: ‘We see this change to ISSOW as a significant opportunity to increase our efficiency in the preparation and issuing of permits.‘
Commenting on the contract win, Mike Neill, Client Director, Petrotechnics added: ‘This contract is an important step in Petrotechnics‘ continuing growth. It‘s rewarding to see that the consistency, standardisation and harmonisation in work execution that we have already delivered for many of the operators working in the North Sea is now being recognised as the benchmark for frontline work control.‘
Petrotechnics has continually supported the oil and gas industry‘s Step Change in Safety‘s endeavours in the area of harmonising permit to work and the ISSOW harmonisation business model is based on Sentinel PRO®.
