Who is the course for?Isolation Authorities – The target audience (typically Isolating Authority) includes those who in their normal day to day duties may be required to apply isolations.
PrerequisitesDelegates are expected to have basic PC skills. Delegates are expected to have successfully completed the Level 1 Performing Authority course prior to attending this course.
Course DescriptionThe aim of the course is for delegate(s) to achieve an understanding of Sentinel PRO® and how to create, authorise and implement isolations. A formal assessment process is included to demonstrate delegates understanding of ISSOW and the taught material.
Course ContentThe course covers the following topics:

  • Isolation Business Process (SIRP)
  • Create WCC Copy and include Isolation
  • Create stand alone isolation certificate (ICC)
  • Edit an ICC and Implement an Isolation
  • Take Isolations through the authorisation process
  • De-Isolation for Test

CourseLevel 2 Area Authority and Isolating Authority Course
Course Delivery

  • Trainer led – Petrotechnics Training Centre
Duration1-2 days. Courses normally take place over a 2 day period and are Instructor Led. The course can be available as a Level 1 internet based e-Learning course followed by a one day Level 2 instructor led classroom course.
Who is the course for?The target audience ( typically Area Authority, Isolating Authority, Department Head or Site Controller/OIM) includes those who in their normal day to day duties carry out or delegate any of the following:

Duration1-3 days. Courses normally take place over a 3 day period and are Instructor Led. The courses can be available as a 1 day course to those who have been trained to Level 2 previously.
Who is the course for?The target audience includes those who will be required to provide an ISSOW administration role at either Installation or Node Administrator level.

Course DescriptionThe aim of the course is for the delegate(s) to achieve classroom competency in the use of Administrator User Database and be able to support ISSOW users. Delegates are assessed through practical exercises.

Course DescriptionPetrotechnics provide other specific training for those carrying out risk assessment and isolation activities:

  • Task Risk Assessment – Best Practice training and coaching in risk assessment techniques and hazard management
  • Operational Risk Assessment – Training technical authorities and selected personnel to lead teams and provide accurate assessments of operational risk, appropriate control and interface with management of change processes.
  • Safe Isolations and Reinstatement – Isolation procedure classroom and coaching in the field for isolation implementation, lockout and tagout, reinstatement and recording of status.
