Level 2 Area Authority and Isolating Authority Course

The aim of the course is for the delegate(s) to achieve classroom competency in the management of day to day operations of Sentinel PRO®

The course typically covers the following topics:

Day 1 ( Level 1)

  • The purpose of Safe Systems of Work
  • An overview of the Sentinel PRO® system
  • Key roles and responsibilities
  • Accessing Sentinel PRO®
  • WCC types and Categories
  • How to create a WCC
  • Level 1 Risk Assessment ( L1RA)
  • Certificate Search
  • Copy/Edit Function for WCC
  • WCC Lifecycle
  • Lessons Learned and Audit
  • Routines

Day 2 ( Level 2)

  • Paper Back- up System
  • Detailed Level 2 Risk Assessment
  • Isolation Business Process (SIRP)
  • Copy WCC and include Isolation
  • Create stand alone isolation certificate
  • Edit ICC and Apply Isolation
  • De-Isolation for Test
  • Long Term Isolations
  • Supplementary Control Certificates (SCC)
  • WCC Cross Reference
  • Work Packs
  • Petrotechnics Help-Desk

A formal assessment process is included to demonstrate delegates understanding of ISSOW and the taught material. The target audience ( typically Area Authority, Isolating Authority, Department Head or Site Controller/OIM) includes those who in their normal day to day duties carry out or delegate any of the following:

  • WCC/ICC Verification
  • WCC Authorisation or Approval
  • WCC Issue
  • Isolation implementation or update
  • Validate Lessons
  • Review Audits

Courses normally take place over a 2 day period and are Instructor Led. The course can be available as a Level 1 internet based eLearning course followed by a one day Level 2 instructor led classroom course.

Delegates are expected to have basic IT skills.
