Aberdeen, UK, 7 December 2018Petrotechnics, the developer of Proscient – the hazardous industries’ first software platform for operational excellence (OE) – hosted its Autumn 2018 user event a couple of weeks ago. Petrotechnics’ North Sea clients gathered in the Oil & Gas UK office in Aberdeen to share their experiences of how Proscient is tangibly enabling the journey to digital operations.

The Petrotechnics user forum has been running in the North Sea for over 10 years. Attended by leading industry operators, the bi-annual event allows Petrotechnics’ clients to share and discuss operational challenges, industry best practices, and how they are using the capabilities of the Proscient software platform to re-imagine business process, workflows and the insight needed to power them. It also serves as a forum for North Sea Operators to see the latest Proscient capabilities and preview the Proscient roadmap.

At the autumn event there were a number of key highlights:

  • Proscient clients shared their experiences implementing and migrating multiple assets to the enterprise software platform, and offered best practice for others making the move
  • The ease of deployment and especially the “go lives” in client operations were given high marks with one operator saying “Go-lives are all about supporting the team offshore, and we’ve had no problems with this on any of our assets – everyone picks it up really quickly.” And another operator added, “The actual go-live date is something and nothing”
  • The results of Petrotechnics’ 3rd Annual PSM survey were presented and how Proscient’s Operational Risk Management capabilities can tangibly reduce risk and improve efficiency were actively discussed
  • The enhanced Operations Logbook and Shift Handover capability was presented during an interactive session

What was clear from the customer feedback is Proscient’s digital head start and standard best practice configuration accelerates customer deployment times. As a truly commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software platform – ready to deploy, Proscient has done away with the need for long configuration cycles and customised coding – allowing clients to realise fast digital ROI.
