Petrotechnics a silver sponsor at 13th annual GCPS event
Petrotechnics was pleased to participate as a silver sponsor of the 2017 AIChE/CCPS Global Congress on Process Safety. The 13th annual conference held March 26-29, in San Antonio, Texas, brought together over 1,000 process safety professionals from chemical and other hazardous industries globally. The forum enabled sharing of practical insights and technological advances in all aspects of process safety. Key topics included industry/industrie 4.0 – challenges and opportunities for chemical industry process safety and human factors/ergonomics.
During the forum, Petrotechnics’ North American President Mike Neill presented a technical paper titled, “Process Safety in Operations – What’s Missing.” The presentation was attended by well over 200 process safety leaders. The forum addressed the challenges for daily decision-making, in terms of whether the plant is safe to operate as well as those surrounding the safe execution of intervention work. Petrotechnics shared recent research conducted with the help of CCPS members and industry professionals on process safety management, the challenges faced, and how to solve them. A copy of the research is available for download: Improving Process Safety Management in Hazardous Industries. A more simplistic approach to risk using a dynamic process safety barrier management model was the proposed solution.
