BG Tunisia Commended for Safety Innovation

The BG Group Chairman’s Awards 2008, were held at the Blenheim Palace, one of England’s grandest stately homes. Employees from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Kazakhstan, India, Libya, Nigeria, Trinidad & Tobago and Tunisia joined finalists from joint ventures and partners, as well as BG directors, EVP’s and AGM’s for a celebration of the winning and commended entries in each of the nine award categories.
This year’s competition attracted a total of 137 entries across the nine categories. 70 of the submissions were safety-related and there were 22 entries for the newly created category of Asset Integrity.
Under the Safety Innovation category, BG Tunisia received a Highly Commended Award for being the first asset in the BG Group to successfully implement an electronic permit-to-work system, replacing a traditional paper based one.
BG Tunisia implemented Petrotechnics electronic permit-to-work system, Sentinel PRO®, in 2006.
