Growth and innovation on the agenda as Fergus Ewing MSP and Petrotechnics discuss development of UK Continental Shelf
Ministerial visit explores prospects for North Sea oil and gas industry.
Aberdeen, UK, December 16 2014 – Petrotechnics, the leading provider of enterprise operations excellence management solutions, was delighted to receive Fergus Ewing MSP and senior members of the Scottish Government’s Oil & Gas Unit at the company’s Aberdeen headquarters. With a portfolio including Energy and Enterprise, the Minister has a keen focus on fostering innovation within the North Sea oil and gas industry, and met with Petrotechnics’ CEO Phil Murray to discuss how the challenges faced by operators on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) can be addressed.
Petrotechnics believes that the key to addressing declining production efficiency, aging assets and growing maintenance backlogs is to provide an enterprise-wide view of risk in time, space, and cumulatively. This approach allows anyone, anywhere in an organisation to see and understand the potential impact of risk, meaning that better decisions can be made to get more of the right work done safely.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Ewing to Petrotechnics’ headquarters and discuss not only the history of the company, but what it can bring to future development of the UKCS,” says Murray, CEO, Petrotechnics. “The Minister was particularly impressed with both Petrotechnics’ global export growth and the potential future contribution to improving efficiency in the UKCS.”
Petrotechnics took the opportunity to demonstrate its innovative Proscient software platform to Ewing, who had requested the ministerial visit following a discussion between Murray and then First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond at the Oil & Gas UK Industry Conference earlier this year. Salmond was impressed by the company’s vision to ‘change the safety-productivity dynamic’ in the North Sea oil and gas sector and other industries subject to hazardous environments and operating conditions. Petrotechnics’ flagship enterprise operational excellence management solution is capturing the interest of organisations working in multiple industries, with new opportunities arising regularly across the globe.
