Petrotechnics 5 million hours Milestone
2 March 2009
Petrotechnics, a global leader in transforming the efficiency and effectiveness of frontline operations in hazardous process industries, has celebrated passing five million operational hours of use on its leading product, Sentinel PRO®.
Aberdeen-based Petrotechnics’ award-winning Integrated Safe System of Work (ISSOW), Sentinel PRO®, is currently deployed in 85% of the North Sea, in 17 countries and in five continents with growth into the downstream sector as well as valuable contract wins upstream.
“Sentinel PRO® is an innovative, web-based solution that manages and controls work activities on safety critical processes, replacing inefficient paper-based systems and with a proven track record of enhancing frontline safety and improving productivity,” said Phil Murray, Chief Executive Officer of Petrotechnics.
“The root cause of the majority of incidents can be traced back to poor quality of risk assessment, low hazard awareness of the workforce and poor control of hazards at the worksite. Sentinel PRO® addresses these issues by applying consistency and rigor to processes such as permit to work, risk assessment, isolations control, hazardous substances and manual handling operations resulting in significant reductions to risk in hazardous environments.”
Petrotechnics wealth of experience has been acquired during almost 20 years of operating in the challenging and demanding environment of the UK North Sea. This experience has paved the way for Petrotechnics to keep innovating to become the world leader in transforming the safety and efficiency of frontline operations through our integrated safe systems of work, incorporating business processes, people and technology.
